Accurate and Reliable
The heavy bull barrel keeps it on target and makes recoil nearly non-existent. More accurate than the Ruger 10/22, just less available accessories.Shot hundreds of rounds and not one failure yet. Cycles the cheap thunderbolt 22's just fine.

The 597 is great but can be very fussy about ammo. Strangely enough it seems to hate Remington 22lr. Cyclone, golden bullet, and thunderbolt all caused frequent eject failures. I had much better luck with CCI ammo. Scope is decent and certainly good enoug

Fired 10 rounds out of the box and the rear ring slid off the dovetail...I tightened it up, took another 10 shots: 30" out at 50 yds. Will sight it myself before I pass final judgement but def. not as advertised.
