Had never even picked up a Vanguard. This rifle is my favorite now. The bolt is smooth, no slop and shoulders well. I am amazed at the quality vs price. I am going to buy one in 6.5 C.M. it shot 3" groups at first. Had to tighten stock bolts up. Love this
