This rifle features a 16" free-float, melonite-coated, chrome moly barrel with an A2 flash hider, and a carbine-length gas system. The forged 7075 T6 aluminum receiver has a T-marked A3 flattop. It uses a ATI Strikeforce buttstock and buffer tube with a 11" Diamondback aluminum M-Loc rail handguard and A2-style pistol grip. It comes with an aluminum Mil-Spec 30-round magazine. Jason, yes Sir it is. The Barrel is "Stamped" 5.56NATO and will handle both 5.56 and 223 ammunition without any issues. I have 3 Diamondbacks and they will handle high round counts.
